This thing splits through kindling like it’s nothing, and the modular head design means I can swap it onto a longer handle for camp chores without buying a second tool. The hickory has a nice heft that makes every swing feel deliberate, not clunky.

The hickory handle feels absolutely solid in my hand, and you can tell it’s built to last through years of camp work. Split kindling and trimmed branches on my first outing, and it handled everything without a wobble. Exactly what I wanted from a traditional-style tool.

The modular design sold me — I can swap the head onto different handles depending on the job, and the hickory still feels solid after a week of splitting kindling. Worth the extra cash for something that'll outlast the cheap ones.
